Oppenhoff hat den EIC Fund erneut umfänglich bei seinen Deutschland-Investments beraten. Investiert wurde dieses Mal in das Tech Start-up Nyris GmbH. Der EIC Fund ist der Sonderfonds des Europäischen Innovationsrates und damit das zentrale Investmentvehikel der Europäischen Kommission. Er dient der Umsetzung des EIC Accelerator Programms der Europäischen Kommission, das innovative und nachhaltige europäische Wachstumsunternehmen unterstützt. Der EIC (European Innovation Council) wurde im Rahmen des Pilotprojekts „Horizon 2020 – the Framework Programme for Research and Innovation“ gegründet und im Jahr 2021 mit dem Aufsetzen des „Horizon Europe Programme“ erfolgreich fortgesetzt. Mit einer Laufzeit von 2021 bis 2027 und einem Gesamtbudget von bis zu 95,5 Mrd. Euro ist es eines der größten Förderprogramme für Forschung und Innovation weltweit. 2022 war der EIC Fund mit 71 Investments der größte europäische deeptech VC Fond. Die nyris GmbH bietet eine KI-basierte Lösung zur Ersatzteil- und Produkterkennung. Zu den Kunden gehören unter anderem Henkel, IKEA, Lufthansa und Renault. Das Investment in das Tech Start-up erfolgte als Equity-Beteiligung im Rahmen eines 2nd Closing einer Series-B-Finanzierungsrunde unter dem „Horizon Europe Programm“. Die Finanzierungsrunde hatte ein Volumen von insgesamt rund 10 Mio. Euro. Das Oppenhoff-Team unter Federführung von Dr. Peter Etzbach umfasste Jonas Weise (beide Gesellschaftsrecht / M&A), Dr. Fee Mäder und Dr. Patric Mau (beide IP).
