Après l’essor de l’automatisation du recrutement et des premiers modules d’analyse prédictive, l’IA change d’échelle et elle ne se contente plus d’assister, elle prend part activement au sourcing, au tri et à la présélection des candidats. Dans cette transformation, les géants du logiciel RH accélèrent leurs mouvements. Oracle a ouvert la voie en enrichissant Oracle Cloud HCM de fonctionnalités génératives avec la rédaction automatisée de descriptions de poste, le matching de compétences et les chatbots RH capables d’accompagner managers et candidats tout au long du processus. Workday mise sur une intégration native, avec un accent sur la recommandation proactive de talents internes et la mobilité professionnelle. Dans les deux cas, l’objectif est d’offrir une expérience fluide aux recruteurs et de valoriser au maximum les données déjà stockées dans leurs systèmes. SAP, longtemps critiqué pour l’ergonomie et la lourdeur de SuccessFactors, choisit une autre trajectoire : l’acquisition ciblée. En rachetant SmartRecruiters, éditeur reconnu pour sa simplicité d’usage et son compagnon IA Winston, le groupe allemand s’approprie une technologie déjà adoptée par plus de 4 000 clients dans 120 pays, parmi lesquels Visa, LinkedIn, Red Bull ou Bosch. L’intégration vise à transformer SuccessFactors en une suite RH proactive, capable d’orchestrer tout le cycle de recrutement, de l’identification des talents à leur intégration. Derrière ces annonces, l’IA générative devient un standard attendu par les directions RH. Elle doit réduire le temps consacré aux tâches répétitives, améliorer la qualité du matching et libérer du temps pour l’évaluation humaine. Mais elle soulève aussi des enjeux sensibles : fiabilité des algorithmes, gestion des biais, conformité réglementaire, notamment avec l’AI Act européen, et transparence des décisions. La capacité des éditeurs à allier puissance technologique et garanties éthiques conditionnera l’adoption à grande échelle. L’histoire de SmartRecruiters Fondée en 2010 à San Francisco par le Franco Américain JÉRÔME TERNYNCK, SmartRecruiters est née d’un constat simple : les systèmes de suivi de candidatures (ATS) traditionnels ne facilitaient pas le recrutement. Après un modèle freemium initial, la société a pivoté vers un SaaS payant et s’est imposée comme une plateforme de référence pour le “hiring success”. Au fil des années, elle a levé 225 millions de dollars (≈ 208 M€), dont une série E de 110 M$ en 2021 qui l’a propulsée au statut de licorne avec une valorisation de 1,5 milliard de dollars. Malgré la crise du Covid-19, l’entreprise a enregistré une croissance de 70 % de ses bookings en 2020, preuve de sa résilience. En 2024, SmartRecruiters a atteint un chiffre d’affaires de 71 M$ (≈ 65 M€), en hausse de 51 % sur un an, et emploie environ 700 collaborateurs. Sa plateforme traite près de 100 millions de candidatures par an et gère environ 1 million d’embauches pour ses clients. Une acquisition stratégique Le 1er août 2025, SAP a officialisé l’acquisition de SmartRecruiters. Les détails financiers de la transaction n’ont pas été communiqués, mais l’opération s’inscrit dans la volonté du groupe allemand de repositionner SuccessFactors face à la concurrence d’Oracle et de Workday.
